Where Are We in our Transition Time?

Although the Covid crisis interrupted our interim / transition process, we continue to move ahead.

We are in the process of collecting information about our Congregation, Community and Vision for the Mission Study paper:
  • We have completed the celebration of our long and important history, making a large chart of the way we got to today.
  • We have completed a survey of our congregation and compliled the results, and have accessed demographic data.
  • We have held one "Virtual Potluck" with Principal Marcy Baker from the Jamesville Elementary School to learn more about our community, and are planning a 2nd "Virtual Potluck" with another community leader.
Next steps:
  • Envisioning our future, using a series of Zoom meetings
  • Complete the writing of our Mission Study, which will be posted here.
  • When the Committee on Ministry (COM) approves our Mission Study, we will elect a Pastor Nominating Committee (PNC) to do the work of finding a candidate for us.
  •  The PNC does its work, writing up the needed search documents (Mission Information Form - MIF), then undertaking a process of reading Pastor Informationn Forms (PIFs), choosing some to interview, and finally presenting us with a candidate.
  • Meanwhile, there are other projects the congregation and I will continue!
  • We vote on the presented candidate, and welcome them to Jamesville Community Church!
