Worship and prayer are the basic elements of faith but these
are extended by our outreach and service to others and to our wider community
and world. The outreach programs below allow us to better proclaim
and share our faith.
- Prayer Requests
-
Prayer requests are integral to our Sunday services and to our caring
for others. Any Church member or visitor may submit prayer requests.
Prayer requests received by Thursday noon of each week are included
in our printed program for the following Sunday's services.
During each service Rev. Harrison calls for prayer requests from the
congregation as well.
To make a prayer request online, please click here
and complete the prayer request form. Thank you!
- Volunteer Opportunities
-
Jamesville Community Church is a community of volunteers who share
their commitment, time, and talents to enrich the lives of others.
There are many, many opportunities for volunteerism within our Church
and in programs in the community-at-large which are supported by our
Church.
- Current volunteer opportunities include helping with Youth
Programs, Refugee Program or Meals
on Wheels.
- Youth Programs
-
As outlined in our Goals, our Youth Program is being expanded and
enhanced. We are dedicated to sharing our faith, mission, and
service with our youth through study, fellowship, recreation, activities,
prayer, and love. Please go to our Youth Programs page to see
and read about what our youth have done and are doing.
- Refugee Program
-
JCC has sponsored refugees from Bosnia, Sudan (the "Lost Boys")
and Somalia. Right now, we are in partnership with the Interreligious
Council and several local churches in sponsoring a family of 13 from
Somalia ("Bantu" Somalians).
- As one might imagine, housing is a challenge for any family of 13,
let alone a family on a very tight budget. We are always looking for
donations of money and household items. Click here
to learn more about the individuals with whom we are working.
-
- Meals On Wheels
-
Nutrition for the elderly and shut-ins is a pressing problem in our
society and our community. Members of our Church work through
a Coordinator to support the efforts of our local Meals-On-Wheels
Chapter. We work to feed the hungry with food and faith.

to send an email to get involved.
- Summer Vacation Bible School
-
JCC offers a vacation bible school each summer for children ages
6 to 15. It is not necessary to be a member of our Church for
your children to take advantage of the fun and activities of our vacation
bible school. We typically have over 100 children enrolled.
- Bo Peep Nursery
School
-
Our Bo Peep preschool is a highly respected outreach program, providing
social, creative and educational experiences to three and four year
old children of the community. It operates from 9 AM to 11:45 AM on
an abbreviated Jamesville-Dewitt school calendar. We typically serve
between 45 and 50 children.
- Student development is the major objective of the program of Bo Peep.
The feedback received from the parents and professional educators
continues to be extremely positive. Parents of Bo Peep students are
often graduates themselves! Many of the preschool children and their
parents continue to participate in programs at church.
- Alcoholics Anonymous
-
A.A. meets here every Tuesday at 8 PM. You are welcome to attend
- but please remember to respect our anonymity.
